Little Abaigh

Kaelee woke up on Abaigh's sobbing. The warlock looked around. Harvey was gone (or wasn't there yet). The baby didn't stop screaming when she came closer, nor when she held her. Kaelee looked at her daughter and gasped with surprise. Small scales had appeared on her legs.

-EILLEAN!

Kaelee knew her friend would know what to do with that.

-Hush, Hush my little darling. It's alright. Mommy's here.

Eillean arrived in Kaelee's room with her sleeping son in her arms.

''I'm here... you're lucky I was only changing his diapper!'' She said, rubbing lightly her eyes. ''So, what is it sweety?''

-Abaigh's crying and she has scales on her legs! I don't know what to do. Does....does it hurts ? I've never had scales! You're the only one I know.

The warlock was in a panic. Something was wrong with her little Abaigh and she was desperate to find a solution.

The mermaid gently laid her son on Kaelee's bed. She then turned to face her friend and took Abaigh in her arms, looking at her legs.

She started to laugh softly, trying not to wake the baby.

''Don't worry Kaelee,'' she said, smiling at her friend. ''It just mean that her magic has awake. It'll pass soon.''

She gave Abaigh back to her mother.

''You know how magic work for children, it is very unstable. Put her in a bath full of water and it'll pass.'' She took her son back. ''If you're not sure about it, I'll bring her in the pool tomorrow morning, alright?''

Kaelee nodded.
-I know how warlock marks works but...mermaid and faerie stuff? Is she growing a tale? Like you do? Will she have a warlock mark as well?

Kaelee exhaled. Being a mother was harder than she thought. There were so many things she didn't know. Eillean told her not to worry. She would watch over her daughter. She'll make sure Abaigh is alright. She smiled at her friend.

-Thanks. Sorry for bothering you in the middle of the night.

''I don't know Kaelee. I'm not familiar with warlock's magic... Maybe a tail will be her warlock mark. But you can rest assured. She's not a mermaid, she only have a part of my magic.''

She started going back to her room. Before getting out of her room, she turned back to face her.

''You don't have to be sorry sweety. You were afraid and you called for help. It's the natural thing to do.''

She smiled softly before going back to her room.
